Fine Art Portraits

Fine Art Portraits

Fine art portraits usually revolve around a certain message and meaning, rather then to boost popularity. This type of photography also uses a lot of artist creativity. The person in the photo is the main subject, with their face sometimes cut or only shown a little. As well as this, the camera tends to be right in front of the subject with the main focus being on the person.

Marta Syrko
Marta Syrko captures a perfect example of a fine art portrait. I was drawn to this one not only with the use of water but also how it both chaotic and serene. It only focuses on one girl but with the amount of bubbles and water around her, the photo had more to look at.

Carolyn Hampton
Another good example of a fine art portrait is by Carolyn Hampton. I especially loved this one because of the way it shows that fine art portraits don't always have to be super close up. I also really enjoy the feathers around the girl, possibly signifying her curiosity as a child and how she always hold on to it.
